About Me

I am a professionally trained and qualified member of the Association of Mctimoney-Corley Spinal Therapists and specialise in the treatment of animals. I am based in North Yorkshire and have been helping the dogs and horses of the area since 2003. I work as a freelance physical therapist travelling throughout the region with additional clinics held in other areas of the UK from time to time. I am also a freelance writer with articles on related issues published in several magazines.

Originally from North Yorkshire I have worked with and owned horses most of my life, starting out in an event yard at the age of 16. I then went to college to study Equine Management before working for a large stud in yearling preparation. I lived in Oxfordshire from 1993 to 1997 and during that time worked as assistant to the manager at Aston Park Stud - a large and successful thoroughbred stud and eventing centre. From there I travelled to Canada and spent a season working for Ian Millar and travelling to the major shows such as Spruce Meadows.

I returned to North Yorkshire in 1997 and now have 2 daughters who are pony-mad and spend much of my free time helping them with their ponies and travelling to competitions and shows.

IMPORTANT FOR THE SAFETY OF CHILDREN AND NOVICE RIDERS

It is advised that any horse or pony displaying unpredictable behaviour such as bucking and napping should have its back and teeth checked to eliminate physical or pain-related problems causing the behaviour.

SPECIAL OFFER :

Any child’s pony displaying unpredictable behaviour can be checked over Free of Charge whilst I am on a business call to the premises. If treatment is necessary this will then be available at a discounted rate.

TREATMENT

The treatments are drug free and highly effective, restoring health by gentle corrective manipulation of the bones of the head, spinal column, pelvis and limbs thereby ensuring the proper functioning of the nerves and endocrine systems which control the natural self-healing capability of the body. The treatment does not just relieve pain, but it can, and often does, remove the cause of other disease. No cell or organ of the body can function properly without its correct supply of nerve impulses. It is usual to treat the whole body at each session; this is because a problem in one part of the body can be masking problems in other areas.

By palpating the spine, limbs and muscles she gains information about sites of pain throughout the body. By correcting subluxations and misalignments she is removing sites of pain, relieving stresses on the nervous system and restoring balance and straightness to the whole body. Maintenance examination and adjustment should be part of the routine care of the working animals as this will maintain full function of the musculo-skeletal and nervous systems before any permanent or long term problems occur.

The treatments are extremely effective in the treatment of long term stiffness, joint pain, and old bones in dogs and horses together with other mystery or intermittent lameness issues.

If a club or organisation want to arrange a clinic outside of my usual area I am happy to discuss arrangements and dates.
